The University of Missouri Extension Business Development Program released economic impact results for the last three years, according to a story submitted by Mary Paulsell, director of communications for the business development program.
The Missouri Small Business and Technical Assistance Centers and the Missouri Procurement Technical Assistance Centers, programs of the business development program, helped Missouri businesses with technology and education, the story said.
The results client firms saw over the last three years were an increase in sales of more than $665 million, investments of more than $660 million, more than $605 million in government contracts and $16.8 million in research grants funded, according to the submitted-story. The combined effort of the programs also assisted clients to create or retain more than 30,380 jobs.
The economic impacts were self-reported by the business owners through a verifiable process that guarantees accuracy, according to the story.

* Yearning 4 Yarn will celebrate its opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 4 p.m. Thursday at its location at 208 Independence St. in Cape Girardeau.
* The Girl Scouts of the Missouri Heartland will celebrate its new service location with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 1 p.m. Friday at its location at 2136 William St., Suite 178, in Cape Girardeau.
