Mississippi Mutts moved to its new location over the weekend.
The new location, at 609 Broadway, is only about six blocks east of the store's former address at 1231 Broadway.
"The parking was kind of an issue at our current space," Mississippi Mutts employee Kayla Barton said. Sherry Jennings' purchase of the new building was a "can't pass" opportunity, Barton said.
Barton said the new store has at least one big advantage over the old one: "... With that building, we will have a fenced-in outside space" to hold events. Barton said other services will remain the same.
Mississippi Mutts opened in January 2012 and offers fresh-baked dog treats, a self-serve dog wash and many types of dog products.
