The Zimmer Radio Group's five Cape Girardeau stations received 15 awards -- three firsts and 12 certificates of merits -- from the Missouri Broadcasters Association during the association's annual award dinner.
The awards:
KZIM: First place for "Morning Newswatch," first place and a certificate of merit for public service announcements, certificate of merit for a commercial.
KGIR: First place for "Sportstalk," two certificates of merit for play-by-play sports.
KISS, KGKS: Two certificates of merit for DJ of Year, Kevin Casey; and public service announcement.
KCGQ: Two certificates of merit for commercials.
KEZS: Three certificates of merit, two for promotion and one for DJ of Year, Kent Crider.
