VisionAire's assembly facility at Ames, Iowa, is continuing at a fast pace. The site for the St. Louis company's assembly facility is on 13 acres at the Ames Municipal Airport and will consist of two buildings, including the 101,000-square-foot assembly building.

The company will produce the VisionAire, a six-passenger, single-engine business jet aircraft, able to fly at more than 400 miles per hour at altitudes in excess of 40,000 feet. More than 100 orders have been received for the aircraft.

VisionAire, headquartered at St. Louis, had narrowed the search for its facility to Cape Girardeau and Ames, before selecting the latter. The Ames facility is expected to open in mid-1998.
