Kinder Morgan Inc. has announced the sale of Orcom Solutions Inc. to Livewire Utilities LLC.
"The sale of our interest in Orcom is consistent with our back to basics' strategy to focus on the operation of our core business," said Richard D. Kinder, chairman and chief executive officer of Kinder Morgan.
"This transaction is another step in the execution of our game plan to divest our non-core assets, which we expect to complete during the first quarter of this year," said Kinder, formerly of Cape Girardeau.
Kinder Morgan is one of the largest midstream energy companies in American, operating more than 30,000 miles of natural gas and products pipeline in 26 states. The company also has retail distribution, marketing, gathering, electric generation and terminal asserts.
Orcom was a wholly owned subsidiary of En*able, a 50-50 joint venture between Kinder Morgan and PacifiCorp Group Holdings Inc. Orcom is an application service provider of billing and customer care services to the utility and energy industry.
