Southeast Missouri Hospital's Rehabilitation Services has been certified by the Missouri Division of Workers' Compensation to provide rehab services to injured workers compensation clients.
The certification covers both impatient rehab facilities at the hospital and Southeast Missouri Hospital Outpatient Rehabilitation Services at 60 Doctors' Park.
Sharon Naughton, occupational therapist at the hospital, said Southeast's rehab services are designed around the individual physical needs of the patient. Southeast Outpatient Rehabilitation Services also offers Workplus, a program that incorporates each part of a work-related injury -- from prevention to rehab to a safe return to work. The program focuses not only on the worker but on the work environment and seeks way to reduce risk of re-injury.
More than 4.2 million work-related injuries a year are reported in the United States, resulting im more than 75 million days of lost work.
