ST. LOUIS -- Anheuser-Busch Co. is testing to see how well its beer will sell in plastic bottles, the world's largest brewer said.
Budweiser and Bud Light are being sold in 16-ounce plastic bottles in Dallas and Phoenix. Anheuser-Busch sold beer in plastic bottles in New York last summer.
The new packaging -- an alternative to the traditional aluminum can or glass bottle -- is being sold primarily in convenience markets.
Miller, the nation's No. 2 brewer in this country, started selling beer in plastic bottles in some markets in October.
Spokesman Scott Bussen said Wednesday that the packages were getting a good reception from retailers and consumers.
