Missouri's April construction activity was up 29 percent from April 1995.
April totals were at $628,632,000, compared to the $489,089,000 during April 1995, according to the F.W. Dodge Division of McGraw-Hill, an authority on the construction market. Dodge, which issues monthly totals in its Dodge Report, also publishes Sweet's Catalog Files.
The state's April nonresidential construction was $211,044,000, down 2 percent from $214,780,000 of April 1995. Residential construction for the month was $257,756,000, up 32 percent from the $194,853,000 in March 1995.
Nonbuilding construction was double 1995, at $150,832,000, compared to the $79,456,000 during the same month a year ago.
Construction is down 3 percent for the first four months at $1,880,079,000, down from the $1,930,175,000 a year ago.
