Long Distance Discount (LDD) has been approved to become a local phone service provider.
The Missouri Public Service Commission granted the approval recently.
LDD currently provides long-distance and Internet service to customers.
The approval, say LDD officials, will mean lower local rates and one consolidated bill for long-distance, Internet and local usage. The company, which is now offering local service to customers in West Kentucky and Southeast Missouri, also offers call waiting, caller I.D., call forwarding, conference calling and other services.
