Fru-Con has reached 7 million consecutive safe-labor hours at the Procter & Gamble plant facility in Cape Girardeau County.

Fru-Con Construction Corp., based in St. Louis, has not had a lost-time injury at the Cape Girardeau site since April 15, 1990, more than nine years ago.

On average, Fru-Con has maintained more than 335 employees at the P&G location during that time. With recent expansion projects, the Fru-Con work force at P&G is about 12,000 employees.

Both Fru-Con and P&G emphasize safe work habits in their operations.

"We have been promoting safe work behaviors as long as I can remember," said Karen Schenkelberg, Fru-Con site manager at P&G.
