My Daddy's Cheesecake is moving downtown.

The business was founded in 1987 by Tom Harte and his wife, Jane Harte, and Joe Low and his wife, Lauchette Low, as a part-time business.

The bakery will open at 111 N. Main within the next month, moving from Plaza Galleria, 2001 Independence.

My Daddy's Cheesecake will be the second new business to open on Main Street this year. Daina Rae's, a crafts supplies and specialty shop, opened late last month.

CHAFFEE Owl Computer Services of Chaffee is offering a new service to the Cape Girardeau area.

The service, "How Are You Today?," is a computerized monitoring service that daily telephones shut-ins or anyone who would benefit from the service.

"Our computer will call one, two or three times a day," said James Hindman, president of Owl Computer. "If the people called need assistance or fail to answer, a call is placed immediatedly to `help' numbers that have been provided to the service."

John Deere Co. has introduced three new U.S.-assembled tractors in the 40-to-60-horsepower range.

The tractors were revealed recently at Nashville, Tenn.

"They are being assembled at the company's new assembly plant on an 80-acre site near Augusta, Ga." siad Rick Klipfel, general manager of Mid America Power Equipment, Inc., 420 S. Kingshighway.

Klipfel was in Nashville when the three new vehicles were introduced. "We're excited about the tractors," he said. "I'M proud that Joh Deere realizes how important it is to have the only U.S.-assembled 40-to-60-horsepower tractors."

John Deere, which developed the first steel plow 154 years ago, is a manufacturer of farm equipment.

Culligan Water Conditioning has introduced a new water conditioner the Culligan Mark 1000.

The local dealer is Gary and Cindy Heuer of Culligan Water Conditioner, 225 N. Clark.

"The new conditioner is a high-performance model," said Heuer. "It incorporates a new level of accuracy and dependability in water conditioners.

"The new conditioner is fully electronic to match water donditions in a home," he said.

Big Al's Nightclub opened recently at 610 S. Kingshighway. The wrong address of the club was given in the Southeast Missourian March 1.

The club is owned by Bisher Enterprises.
