Show-Me Net celebrates 10th anniversary
Show-Me Net, a not-for-profit Internet provider, is celebrating its 10th anniversary of providing low-cost dial-up to Southeast Missouri. Show-Me Net, which covers Cape Girardeau, Bollinger, Scott and Perry counties, is expanding to the Ste. Genevieve area in conjunction with the anniversary.
Show-Me Net was organized as a community information network by a group of individuals and organizations interested in serving the region.
The original equipment was housed in a closet in the Riverside Regional Library in Jackson. Since those early days, the equipment and offices have been moved twice as the operation expanded.
Show-Me Net's offices are in Jackson.
Bellevue Bed & Breakfast in Cape Girardeau has been distinguished by AAA Travel with a three-diamond rating. This is the seventh consecutive year the Bellevue has achieved the rating, which is awarded based on a rigorous on-site inspection. The Bellevue was also featured in Sauce magazine, a monthly publication that highlights the restaurant, bar and entertainment industry in St. Louis. Owner Marsha Toll was approached by a Sauce writer asking if a recipe from the Bellevue Web site could be included in the magazine.
