Gordonville, Pocahontas insurance firms merge

Community Mutual Insurance Co. of Pocahontas recently merged with Gordonville Mutual Insurance Co. The two have become Missouri Heritage Mutual Insurance Co. of Gordonville. Kathryn Miller is the manager.

Famous Barr joins heart health campaign

Famous-Barr (soon to be Macy's) and other divisions of the former May Department Stores Co. recently joined Macy's as a national sponsor of the American Heart Association's "Go Red for Women" campaign. The campaign is to bring more attention to the heart health of women. Through Feb. 20, Famous-Barr is inviting customers to make a $1 tax-deductible donation at the register of the American Heart Association. No purchase is necessary to make a donation.
