The grant will be used for utility and road improvements at the Port. The new improvements will also benefit existing industries in the industrial park and will help attract future development, said DED director Joseph L. Driskill.

Xenium Fiberglass, founded in 1988 in Paducah, Ky., manufactures marine fiberglass covers for barges carrying commodity products on inland waters. The company expanded its operations to a new 35,000-square-foot facility in the Pemiscot County Port Authority on the Mississippi River in 1991. The company was purchased by Trinity Marine Group, a manufacturer of barges, in 1993, and employs 95 people.
