MoDOT wastes taxpayers' money on games, parties

To the editor:

I read in Speak Out where our Missouri Department of Transportation spent $870,000 on heavy-equipment competitions for safety and pre-trip inspectors.

I cannot understand what our transportation leaders are doing. They are getting paid for this, so why should we have to put out extra money?

I seems that MoDOT spends an awful lot of money on entertainment, vehicles, airplanes and general nonsense.

Why do they need more money? So they can have bigger parties. I guess that's OK. It's just taxpayers' money.
