LETTERS: FASCINATING THINGS TO SEE AND DO

To the editor:

Cape Girardeau and its environs are a treasure trove of fascinating things to see and do. An example is the agribusiness tour sponsored by the Jackson Chamber of Commerce.

We've just returned from visits to Jerry Siemer's dairy and the Don Heisserer farm where we saw highly innovative technology transforming agriculture production economics while helping to make our groundwater safe.

We saw a barge of fertilizer from Russia unloading at Midwest Ag's port authority bulk facility in Scott City. This barge will probably reload with U.S. grain for export.

An enterprising couple showed us how they are producing world-class wines at River Ridge Winery near Commerce.

The Cape Girardeau County Pork Producers and the SEMO Cattlemen's Association provided a delicious lunch to round out a perfect day.

Just another reason why it's great to live in Southeast Missouri.
