LETTERS: RELIEF OVER CLONING ISSUE

To the editor:

Ever since the replication of the Scottish ewe just recently, I have been cringing at the implications, were the technology ever to be applied to humans. It was as if a dark cloud were following me around.

This fearful foreboding was threatening to blight my life -- that is, until I read the welcome words of blessed hope by Mona Charen on this pages: "You could not, for example, create another Ronald Reagan by cloning his DNA."

It was as if the sun suddenly reappeared along with a rainbow of the most dazzling polychromacity.
