LETTERS: EXPANDING SPEAK OUT? HALLELUJAH!

To the editor:

On the evening of Oct. 8 I had an experience that was nothing short of serendipity. It occurreed after reading another wonderful column by Sam Blackwell.

Blackwell ended his column by writing, in part, "everything seems more meaningful when you don't know what people are saying." After reading that, I rushed to the telephone and called Speak Out. It was going to say that Sam's insight, though not directed at Speak Out, was yet another sensible reason for expanding it.

Lo and behold, I was greeted with a recorded message that the Southeast Missourian was -- you guessed it -- expanding Speak Out. Hallelujah!
