PROP B: MAKING THE CASE FOR AND AGAINST; MORE DETAILS ARE NEEDED

This article comes from our electronic archive and has not been reviewed. It may contain glitches.

To the editor:

Why would Missourians vote for Proposition B when it does not state all the conditions of violations? You may vote yourself a nightmare if you do not know all the contents of this proposition.

Does "unlawful use of weapons" include pocket knives or any other weapon readily available for lethal use?

"Any other weapon" could include scissors, pocket knives, cigarette lighters, screw drivers, hammers, leather awls, lug wrenches or hatchets.

Doesn't this make gun owners safe from arrest under the law? Doesn't this make non-gun carriers subject to imprisonment if they have "any other weapon" unseen on or near them?

Gun owners, you can strut your stuff like a bantam rooster for $80 for all I care, but don't tread on the portion of the U.S. Constitution that protects the remainder of us citizens.

Annual county costs of $500,000 to $1 million over and above application fees are estimated. This is an unreasonable tax burden.

This is an evil perversion of the Constitution. You will give up your rights if you vote for Proposition B.
