Democrats overplayed their hand

On Nov. 5, 2008, the day after Barack Obama was elected president, I wrote that it would be a day that would live in infamy. I still believe it could be, but I hope the outcome will be much different than Obama and the Democratic Party had imagined.

Since the wide margin of victory by a Republican to fill Ted Kennedy's Senate seat, I have hope Obama's drive toward socialism can be stopped. It was my hope at his election that his presidency would turn out so bad that a large majority of citizens would rise up and turn against him. I believe that is happening. It is evident with each new poll.

With their drive toward socialized medicine, a bill that would enslave and punish every American beyond anything that had experienced since King George III, the Democrats overplayed their hand. A majority of Americans, especially those over 40, easily recognize the evil that Obama and the progressives of the Democratic Party were perpetrating on them.

It will be a tough sell, but we have to re-educate younger voters, college students, that their future lies within those principles that guided our Founders in producing the greatest document that free men should live by. We have an opportunity this November to set the progressive movement back for years. They will not give up trying to enslave us, and we can't either.
