Felty and Virginia Summers were married Dec. 21, 1938, by the Rev. Fulbright of Marble Hill Methodist Church. Their attendants were the late Edwin and Thelma Felty.

They have three children, Carol (Jim) Sawyer, Virgil (Loudeen) Felty, and Saundra (Don) Crader. They have five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
