She was born July 29, 1923, in Hoxie, Ark., daughter of Zechariah Booth and Lucy B. Robins Lawhon. Vonda married L. "Jeff" King on Jan. 1, 1943. He preceded her in death Oct. 14, 1989.

Survivors include three sons, David King of Frisco, Texas, Joe King of Dallas and Brad King of Omaha; a sister, Anne Woodyard of Des Moines, Iowa; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
