MOUNDS, Ill. -- Elmo J. Venson Sr., 81, of Mounds died Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Southgate Nursing Home in Metropolis, Ill. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service Saturday at St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Mounds. The funeral will be at noon at the church, with G.W. White officiating. Burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday in Mound City National Cemetery...
