A Zalma, Mo., man was seriously injured in a Wednesday morning crash in Bollinger County.

Jerry P. Summers, 48, was injured when his 2005 Kawasaki Mule utility vehicle ran off the road and struck a fence at 10:20 a.m. on Route E, two miles west of Arab, Mo., according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

He wasn't wearing a seat belt, the patrol said.

Summers was taken by helicopter to Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
