LAKE OZARK, Mo. (AP) -- A central Missouri teenager is dead after he got into trouble while trying to swim 250 feet across a cove at Lake of the Ozarks.

The Missouri State Water Patrol said the body of 18-year-old Cody Landreth of Iberia was found by divers early Monday. Officers say Landreth began to struggle a short distance from the dock in Jackson Branch Cove Sunday night and yelled to three friends that he was drowning.

The patrol said the others tried unsuccessfully to locate Landreth.
