WHITEWATER -- A teen-ager was in stable condition at St. Francis Medical Center Friday night after a one-vehicle accident on Highway A.

Deanna Winchester, 16, of Whitewater was transported by helicopter to the hospital after the 1994 Chevrolet truck she was driving eastbound ran off Highway A, struck an embankment and turned over Friday morning.

She suffered moderate injuries, said the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred at 8 a.m. about two miles west of Whitewater.
