Georgia M. Jones, 56, and Riley Harris, 58, both of Chicago, were injured in the accident, which occurred at 9:20 a.m. Thursday. Both were taken to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
A spokesman for the Illinois State Police said Jones was driving southbound on I-57 when she apparently fell asleep and drove her vehicle off the road, hitting several trees.
