Mike Chambers takes a break from grading a sidewalk along Sprigg Street in Cape Girardeau to rehydrate Tuesday afternoon. According to the National Weather Service, Tuesday’s high reached 94 degrees with a heat index of 104. A high in the mid-90s again is expected today, with cooler temperatures Thursday and through the weekend.
