Three die in crash near Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Three people died and a fourth was critically injured Thursday when a car crested a hill and struck an oncoming pickup truck just north of Springfield.

The accident occurred on Farm Road 159, just south of state Route WW, the Missouri Highway Patrol said.

The driver of the car, a young male, and an older couple in the pickup were killed, the patrol said.
