A suspect was jailed Monday in connection with an armed robbery of an area convenience store.
The Cape Girardeau County sheriff's office, in a news release, reported that a man entered the Smith Stop Convenience Store on Route K, displayed a knife and fled with cash Monday afternoon.

A short time later, authorities took a suspect into custody, the release said.
The man was being held in the Cape Girardeau County Jail, pending the filing of formal charges, the release said.
