JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- A teen-ager when he killed an eastern Missouri woman, Christopher Simmons now is scheduled to be executed a few days after his 26th birthday.
The state Supreme Court on Tuesday set a May 1 execution for Simmons, convicted of the Sept. 9, 1993, killing of Shirley Crook.
Simmons tied her up and drove her to a train trestle over the Meramec River.
