SUNDAY MEETING EXPLORES THE ART OF SHAKER BOX MAKING

PATTON -- A meeting of the Bollinger County Historical Society Sunday will feature the art of making Shaker boxes.

Bill and Marilyn Kiel of rural Patton make reproductions of the Shaker boxes through their company, Wooden Dreams.

In their work, they create the Shaker boxes, with simple lines and no ornamentation, patterned after those made by members of the Shaker movement several centuries ago.

The public is invited to the meeting, which begins at noon at the Bollinger County Courthouse.
