Moisture from the Gulf of Mexico is expected to collide with a cold front over the region and produce showers and storms that could dump 1 to 1.5 inches of rain in some areas, according to the National Weather Service.

A wind advisory is also in effect until 9 p.m. Wind speeds could average more than 30 mph, with gusts up to 50 mph, the weather service said.
