State Rep. Jack Jackson, R-Wildwood, who is running for state auditor will speak at 5:30 p.m. today at Cape County Park Pavilion 20.
The event will include a cookie and lemonade picnic.
The Republican primary for auditor will take place Aug. 8, and Jackson is expected to speak about his pledge to "embed" auditors into major taxpayer-funded programs from the time the programs get underway as an effort to curb wasteful spending and abuse.
