SEMO BAND CHIEF TO DIRECT BOWL SHOWS

Barry Bernhardt, Southeast Missouri State University band director, will direct halftime shows at the Alamo Bowl Dec. 28 and the Gator Bowl New Year's Day.

The Alamo Bowl in San Antonio will feature 10 high-school bands and the marching bands of the two competing schools, the University of Michigan and Texas A&M.

The Gator Bowl show in Florida will feature more than 2,000 musicians, including 16 high-school bands and the marching bands of the two competing teams, Clemson and Syracuse.
