Scott County collector's office to be open Dec. 31

BENTON, Mo. -- Scott County taxpayers have until noon on the last day of the year to pay their taxes in person.

County Collector Mark Hensley said he will come in at 8 a.m. Dec. 31 and keep his office open until noon.

"That's on a Saturday," Hensley said. "That is the last day to pay taxes without a penalty."

For those who are unable to come to the courthouse during business hours, there is a drop box at the south entrance of the courthouse, he said.
