The Salvation Army has fans available through its Loan-a-Fan program for low income families.
Those who may borrow a fan include individuals 60 years or older, families with children under age 5 and handicapped individuals.
Persons need to bring proof of age and income to the Salvation Army, 701 Good Hope.
The program is in its fifth years.
Capt. Elmer Trapp said about 100 fans are distributed each year.
