CAIRO, Ill. -- The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced the U.S. 60/62 bridge over the Mississippi River at Cairo will be closed to allow crews to perform an annual safety inspection. The closures are scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. March 27 and extend through noon March 31, and from 8 a.m. April 3 through noon April 7. The bridge will be open to all traffic from 5:30 p.m. to 7 a.m. each night.
