RIVERFEST '97 KICK-OFF MEETING TODAY

A kick-off meeting for Riverfest 1997 will be held today at 5:30 p.m. at Port Cape Girardeau Restaurant.

The meeting serves to recruit people who want to be part of the Riverfest celebration and to gather ideas on how to make the event better.

Riverfest is held in June in downtown Cape Girardeau.

"This meeting is open to anyone interested in the Riverfest celebration," said Mac McConnell, a member of the Riverfest Committee. "We want to involve as many volunteers as possible."
