RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS: SEWING LADIES STITCH KINDNESS COMFORTERS

The Sewing Ladies of Bethany Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau have stitched comforters for the Red Cross and baby quilts for Birthright, an organization that assists and counsels pregnant women.

"There are four of us right now, but we turn out a lot of stuff," said Wanda Fitzpatrick.

This year so far, the sewing group has created about a dozen large comforters and about 30 "baby things," Fitzpatrick said.
