Wendy Wilson rakes leaves to the curb in her front yard with oversight by Maverick, her 3-year-old golden retriever, Wednesday in Cape Girardeau. The city public works department has begun its scheduled leaf-collection routes that run through seven zones. The leaf truck will collect leaves at each residence one time during this phase through Dec. 17. After that, the leaf truck will travel through the city on unscheduled routes.
