Cape Girardeau Fire Department responded to a house fire at 1719 W Point Place Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2016 in Cape Girardeau. The fire started from a LP propane gas tank that had exploded while a resident of the house was grilling in the backyard. Fire crews arrived to the scene at 1:40 p.m. seeing signs of smoke and flames at the house and quickly extinguished the fire. No injuries were reported according to Assistant Fire Chief Mark Hasheider.
