Clayson Anderson shovels dirt from the perimeter of the neighborhood garden located off Merriwether Street on Monday to clear the way for a fence. Anderson and 20 of his fellow sixth- and seventh-grade students from Prodigy Leadership Academy were planting potatoes, peppers, tomatoes, squash, cantaloupe and watermelon in the garden in partnership with Southeast Missouri State University's nature literacy class. The fruit and vegetables will be shared with people living in the neighborhood.
