Procter & Gamble through the years

In this Southeast Missourian archive image published Aug. 29, 1969, the production of the Charmin Paper Products Co. Plant, Pampers disposable diapers, reaches the end of the production line and is checked by Production Team Manager Dale Marks of Jackson, left, and team members Mike Moyers of Cape Girardeau and Les Alkenmeyer of Perryville, right.

In this Southeast Missourian archive image, a group of Charmin employees and their families view and industrial model used for construction and training at the Charmin plant during employee "Family Day." 

The Procter & Gamble plant in Cape Girardeau donated 700,000 diapers to the victims of Hurricane Hugo in South Carolina, according to the caption for this Southeast Missourian archive image published Sept. 27, 1989. Pictured looking on as one of the trucks is loaded at the Lenertz Warehouse are from left: Dan Beard, Lenertz Warehouse; Pamela James; Terry James; Phil Larson, P&G plant manager; and Larry Stahlman and Ken Ruth, both of P&G.

Of the 329 employees who began working at the Procter & Gamble plant when it opened, 129 were still employed there when it celebrated its 20th anniversary, according to Southeast Missourian archives. Four of those employees are pictured here are from left: Leroy Brown, Liz Hostetler, Carolyn Thompson and Marti Crites.
