First year teacher Elizabeth Speicher unpacks math books in her fourth grade classroom Monday morning at Franklin Elementary in Cape Girardeau. Speicher, who student-taught first and fifth grade at the school, was preparing for the school's Monday night open house. "I was so happy to get a job here," Speicher said. "Everybody has been working so hard to get everything together." Students start classes in the new Franklin Elementary building Thursday.
