Police probe armed robbery

Cape Girardeau police are investigating an alleged armed robbery reported Friday afternoon.

The robbery apparently happened about 4:30 p.m. near the intersection of South Middle and Good Hope streets when three friends sitting in a parked car were held up.

Police said a man carrying a medium-sized, semi-automatic handgun approached the passenger side of a car carrying two females and male and demanded money.

A woman in the passenger seat handed over some cash, and the man ran off.
