G.D. Fronabarger left the Missourian boxes and boxes of negatives. What he didn't leave were IDs for them. Pictures of the Past features some of Frony's images we've partially identified. We're hoping you can help fill in the blanks. Contact librarian Sharon Sanders at ssanders@semissourian.com, if you recognize a place or a face. Third grade pupils at Trinity Lutheran School busy themselves making vases. At work painting their vases are, from left, Debbie Hoeller, Linda Warner, Hunter Stiegemeyer and Wayne Sprengel. Miss Ruth Froemsdorf is their teacher. (G.D. Fronabarger/Southeast Missourian archive)

Miss Froemsdorf told her pupils to bring some bottles to class for a new project. Some of her pupils brought catsup bottles, others milk bottles and various shaped bottles.

Crushed eggshells, dried and broken into fine pieces, were glued onto the bottles. The bottles were then painted various colors with enamel. The results: beautiful and glittering vases.
