Outside, with Broadway closed between Spanish and Fountain streets, workers from Midwest Painting and Wallcovering clean and paint the exterior windows. Inside, new tile is laid on the first floor, where the Cape Girardeau Area Chamber of Commerce and Cape Girardeau Convention and Visitors Bureau will soon call home. On the fifth and sixth floors, new ceilings are being installed, to be followed soon with glass walls throughout. Much of the work is expected to be completed in a matter of weeks. Developer Jeff Maurer expects the offices to be occupied by October or November.
