Missouri Republican Ed Martin expects to get some help from Texas Gov. Rick Perry in his bid for state attorney general.

Martin's campaign said Wednesday that Perry plans to attend a campaign rally June 29 in Cape Girardeau.

Martin served as chief of staff for former Missouri Gov. Matt Blunt. He faces Livingston County prosecutor Adam Warren in the Aug. 7 Republican primary.

Incumbent Attorney General Chris Koster is unopposed in the Democratic primary.
