HERCULANEUM, Mo. -- Firefighters on Monday battled a fire at a residential care facility south of St. Louis.

The fire broke out before 6 a.m. at Autumn Ridge assisted living facility in Herculaneum, about 25 miles south of St. Louis. Smoke was pouring from the building before it was eventually put out. No one was seriously hurt.

About 70 residents were evacuated. The cause of the fire was not immediately disclosed.
